This hobby will use a variety of cameras and telescope equipment, along with a few items specifically designed only for astrophotography. The following list of equipment is not all encompassing, but will contain the most widely used items you may encounter.

• Refractor - A telescope that uses a series of lenses to collect and focus light.
• Newtonian Reflector - A telescope that uses a curved mirror to capture and focus light.
