Notes

NGC7000, a very large diffuse nebula in Cygnus is called "The North American Nebula" because of its shape, especialy the area that appears like the Gulf of Mexico. It's a bright emission nebula at about 3 degrees east of alpha Cygni. The nebula photographs quite easily and is large enough to require only regular camera lenses. Unfortunately to your naked eyes, you will find it is extremely faint with a slightly greenish color. It's best seen in binoculars.

To the right of the N. American nebula you can find one more uniquely shaped nebula often called the Pelican Nebula. This object is catalog number IC5067-70. The bright star to the right is Deneb, the brightest star in Cygnus.
